Waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) contains many recyclable materials.
Sources of strategic materials, varied and continually being renewed, the WEEE is a real “urban mine”, innovative, available and widespread in our society.
In the present context of running out of natural resources, the exploiting of these mines, rich in plastic materials and in rare metals, is essential to the development of a circular economy which respects the environment and its citizens.
Wishing to develop new recycling networks from WEEE from Urban Mines, the eco-organization Eco-systèmes has created a research and teaching chair in partnership with ParisTech and three “grandes écoles”: “Art et Métiers”, “Chimie ParisTech” and ”Mines ParisTech.”
