L’École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers. L’École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Since its creation in 1780 by the Duke of La Rochefoucauld Liancourt, the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers has trained more than 85,000 engineers. The École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers is affiliated to the PRES (1) ParisTech (2) of which it is a founding member. Arts et Métiers is also a founding member of the heSam Université network (3).
A unique network at national level
A single institution coordinated by a General Management, Arts et Métiers comprises 14 sites including 8 campuses spread over the French territory. This network gives it an exceptional proximity with the industrial sector in the regions.
Teaching and research, its main missions
Arts et Métiers’ main mission is the initial training of generalist engineers in the disciplines of mechanical engineering, energy engineering and industrial engineering. It also provides continuing education for engineers and executives in the industry. Chimie ParisTech
L’École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris (ENSCP) – Chimie ParisTech is the most prestigious French school training high-level generalist engineers in the field of chemistry and its interfaces, endowed with solid scientific knowledge, able to lead innovative projects. Chimie ParisTech is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The first class opened in 1896 and now includes 100 teacher-researchers and researchers, 140 doctoral and postdoctoral students and more than 330 students.
Toward Chimie ParisTech
In 2008 ENSCP became a founding member of PRES ParisTech. It adopted the Chimie ParisTech brand name. Chimie ParisTech is also a founding member of the “Paris Sciences et Lettres” PRES, PSL* whose IDex was selected in July 2011. This is the beginning for Chimie ParisTech of a new history, anchored in Paris, alongside two other engineering schools of ParisTech, the ESPCI ParisTech and Mines ParisTech, but also Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris Dauphine University and 4 prestigious art schools. All the ingredients are there to offer students new and innovative training programs adapted to their personality.
Since July 17, 2014, PSL is a Community of Universities and Institutions (ComUE). It is a new kind of federal university, selective, human-sized and able to rank among the 20 best universities in the world.
The Paris Sciences et Lettres Research University brings together 25 institutions of higher education and research, located in Paris and the Paris region.
These institutions share a common culture, which is based on scientific excellence and a very demanding selection of students. Their diversity allows them to cover the entire academic field, from astrophysics to artistic creation and from mathematics to classical humanities.
Teaching and research
Teaching at Chimie ParisTech covers all areas of chemistry: organic chemistry, materials chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, process engineering, energy, etc. and is delivered as initial training to engineering students, master students and doctoral students, but also to engineers and senior technicians chemists wishing to expand their knowledge in specialized fields.
Chimie ParisTech includes three research laboratories : the Institut de Recherche de Chimie Paris, the Institut de chimie pour les sciences de la vie et de la santé and the Institut Photovoltaïque d’Île-de-France. The research topics cover a wide range of fields of chemistry: organic chemistry, chemistry of molecules of biological interest, microreactors, parallel and continuous flow synthesis, small molecule chips, molecular chemistry and chemistry for living, energy, materials and processes but also chemistry and electrochemistry, solid state physics, optoelectronics, new materials and processes.

MINES ParisTech
Since 1783, MINES ParisTech has been training top-level engineers able to solve complex problems in a wide variety of fields. It trains 150 engineers, 200 masters and 100 doctors a year. It hosts 235 research professors.
First engineering school in France by its volume of contract research, MINES ParisTech provides an important activity oriented research industry. His research interests range from energetics to materials, applied mathematics, geosciences and economics and social sciences and management.
MINES ParisTech is a founding member of ParisTech, which brings together 12 of the largest engineering and management schools in Paris. The School is also a member of PRES Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL*) which brings together 16 prestigious institutions of higher education and research located in the heart of Paris. Since 2014, PSL* has become a Community of Universities and Institutions (ComUE). It is a new kind of federal university, selective, human-sized and able to rank among the 20 best universities in the world.
Combining partnership research and academic excellence
MINES ParisTech has eighteen research centers grouped into five teaching and research departments (mechanics and materials, economics, management and society, energy and processes, geosciences, mathematics and systems). The research centers of MINES ParisTech are partly associated with the CNRS, Polytechnique ParisTech and INSERM. Their research, at the intersection of multiple domains, allowed the emergence of new disciplines, such as geostatistics, mathematical morphology or control of flat systems, the sociology of innovation, engineering and theories of design. widely studied by the scientific community and disseminated in industry and services.
This research is conducted in partnership with the socio-economic world, industrial companies in particular. It is conducted in close collaboration with ARMINES, the contract research operator of the school. The amount of contractual research amounts to 30 million euros per year, which places MINES ParisTech at the head of the grandes écoles in terms of volume of contract research, whether public or private. 17 companies have been created through the school over the last five years. The school strongly encouraged the development of teaching and research chairs on emerging themes. It now hosts 18. The academic excellence of the school is attested by obtaining ERC (2) scholarships, Nobels awards (2) and the volume of publications that exceeds 400 articles or books per year. In addition, the school is resolutely committed to an internationalization strategy that manifests itself through partnerships with the most prestigious universities and by recruiting (1/3 of the professors recruited internationally).
A varied and cutting-edge training offer
The training offer reflects the variety of areas covered. In the civil engineering cycle, students have the choice between 16 options of specialization in all areas of competence of the school (applied mathematics, robotics, geosciences, design, logistics, sociology, industrial economics, etc.) and make the subject of individualized tutoring. The training is largely devoted to internships abroad and exchanges with foreign universities of high level. In addition, the school has developed a wide range of complementary courses: 8 international masters, 10 national masters and 13 specialized masters.
